Research Questions
At Hill End Public School we decided to come up with come questions that we would try to find the answers to while we are learning about beans. The questions we came up with are;
1. Do beans grow well in cold weather?
2, How many types of beans are there?
3. Can you kill a plant with kindness?
4. Do plants need soil?
4. Do plants need sunlight?
We will be conducting some experiments to test our answers.

Experiment 1 - Do plants need soil to live?
By Harrison and William
Equipment - Two bean plants, pots, soil, water, plant holder.
Process - We planted one bean plant into soil and put one bean plant into water, we
will check them every day and record what happens.
Prediction - The plant with no soil will get sick or die.

Experiment 2 - Can you kill a plant with kindness?
By Grace and Allen
Equipment - Two bean plants, pots, soil, water, fertiliser
Process - We planted both bean plants into soil and gave one of them 10x the amount of fertiliser we should have! We will then care for both plants in the same way and see what happens.
Prediction - The plant with too much fertiliser will get sick.
